Dr. James Dunning is the President of Spinal Manipulation Institute and the Director of the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy Fellowship in Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy program. Dr. Dunning specializes in the use of spinal manipulation, western acupuncture and dry needling for a variety of neuromusculoskeletal conditions. He has published several journal articles on the effectiveness and underlying mechanisms of cervical spinal manipulation. Dr. Dunning is also a 4th year PhD student at Nova Southeastern University and his dissertation is using a multi-center randomized controlled trial to investigate the effectiveness of upper cervical manipulation and dry needling in patients with cervicogenic headache.
